We did take the boat out for a week and travelled to work from the green down on Ely waterfront to see if there was something in the marina that was making me worse and that was actually really nice. There is definately something here that our kitties are getting on their furr but despite a chemical bath for the one worst affected I'm still reacting to them. We're taking steps and trying all we can because this mad cat lady isn't giving her little boys up without a fight.
So as I'm gradually gaining stamina I'm creating again. I had hoped to produce a range of special (really special!) cards for my fab floaty people to surprise their mums with but it just hasn't been possible. Instead, I've just finished one fabulous card for my own mum. Because I'm a bit decrepit and work fairly long hours at the day job I don't get to see her as often as I like but we do talk most days. She's always there when I need her and despite having her own health issues every time I wind up in hospital she's always there to see me, even if it means walking from one side of the massive hospital site to the other. So I wanted to do something really fab for her this year - I've ordered some concert tickets for a local gig where Alison Moyet is performing so I will take mum to that later on in the year but without something to really wrap yet the card had a lot to live up to!
I've been playing around with some fabric ideas, and some vintage postcard style envelopes and hope to build these into some cushion and makeup bags/glasses cases designs but it seemed like the perfect opportunity to see how they hold up to being stitched and embellished.
This is the finished card and envelope - what do you think??
