I think my most memorable adult firework night was about five years ago when I had a broken ankle. Going to the big display in Cambridge was just not possible so we cruised down to a mooring not far from Ely, carefully climbed the bank by torch light to the wooden bench at the top, and got utterly blown away by firework displays quite literally surrounding us on all sides. We could see for miles and the horizon was alive with colours, bangs, whizzes and sparkles. I really didn't want it to end!
This year with so much to do, and me still battling a kidney infection (and now man flu just to top it off nicely!) we're staying closer to civilisation and joining in the fun of the boat club at the marina (The Fish & Duck Marina). I suggested to my husband that I'd gladly bake a contribution to events but I'm not so sure anyone would want germ ridden me baking their buns!
I hope whatever you do for Fireworks night that you stay safe, and warm. Have fun! xxx
