As I spent a fair amount of time being looked after so carefully by the amazing resus and A&E teams at Addenbrooke's hospital in Cambridge I also took some time out to bake some special cupcakes to say just a token thank you. I did hope (in the nicest possible way) that I wouldn't see either team for the duration of the holidays once I'd delivered them but unfortunately this wasn't to be. With my immune system regularly set to try and kill me, I had a massive flare up of symptoms (I have many allergies and intolerances, but my immune system can throw me into full anaphylactic shock all on its own with no external triggers) on New Years Eve and was treated in resus. I was allowed to leave in the evening but my husband and I noticed my symptoms returning and by the wee hours on New Years Day he had to rush me back in for more treatment by the resus team. I was very poorly for a few days, and exhausted. My first day out of bed was yesterday though so I had plenty of time to ponder, to research online, and to consider designs and plans for the coming year. I love our bedroom and am glad that I spent time making it feel very girly and vintage. The image shown is not from our bedroom, but if we didn't have a lot of animals I would so love something this extravagant! I do have a beautiful canopy and the most delicious pearl fairy lights though! They help the healing process a lot! lol!
Nestled in the frame you can see here the groundwork for a book clock too! This one had the most amazing gilt edged pages so it cried out for transformation. Watch out for a photo of the finished piece!
